It would have been easy for Roseanne Cash to cash in (no pun intended) on her parents' death by rolling some schmaltzy cover of "Walk the Line." But Black Cadillac is an honest recording recounting a daughter's reflections on grief, anger, healing, loss and love. The twang is subtle, the poetry powerful, and the sentiment truly moving.

Two mothers and one great big dad--that's too much death for two years ("House on the Lake," "Dreams Are Not My Home"). (Grade - **)
