Rhapsody

A lot of folks who fancy themselves fans of vintage glam rock can't handle Roy Wood. That's because the dude is beyond brutal, making Slade sound like David Essex. In addition to a band of boogie rockers grooving like a 60-ton anaconda, Wizzard Brew features production packed with gooey reverb and violent psychedelic episodes. Then there are Wood's insane compositions, which span free jazz, rockabilly, heavy metal, bubblegum and modern classical. And did I mention his lung-rupturing howl?
