San Quinn

For 15 years, Quinn has chronicled the rugged street life of San Francisco's Fillmore district, and that approach is front and center on the excellent "Ready to Go" and "Double Dose of Gangsta." But Quinn is a poet, and the album is also introspective. The title track is a triumphant look at his trials and tribulations. The familial theme runs throughout, with his 11-year-old son, appropriately named Lil' Quinn, rapping next to Quinn on "Billionaire," a song about the importance of getting a college education.
