Rhapsody

Sara Groves' floaty folk was made for the nostalgia of Christmas, though fans couldn't experience the combo until this holiday release, seven years after her debut. The brief but hypnotic arrangement of opener "Star of Wonder" is an accurate musical amuse bush, the standard carols would impress Alison Krauss, and the originals are recommended: "Toy Packaging" is a quirky cocktail and "It's True" is one of those rare moments when using the "cute kid" sentimental affect actually works.
