The German metal grandfathers toss a little bit of everything into Humanity Hour Vol. 1 -- modern-styled rockers, classic metal moves, an end-of-the-world subtext, and a handful of the Klaus Meine-stamped power ballads they have always done right. Guest vocalist Billy Corgan appears on "The Cross," but it's the crunching opener and anytime Meine puts his guts into a chorus that'll keep your attention."321" (which is awesome) and "You're Loving Me to Death" (classic!) really could have come out alongside "Rock You Like A Hurricane," thankfully minus the tinny drum sound of the '80s.
