Shelby Lynne

Shelby Lynne's voice has garnered so many comparisons to the seductive cooing of Dusty Springfield that it almost seems too obvious for her to put out an album of Springfield covers (and a Dusty-inspired original). But from the start of this project, Lynne has stated that she only set out to sing the songs that we all want to hear again without trying to fill Dusty's shoes, and she pulled it off. Just A Little Lovin' is warm with the familiarity of tunes that many of us grew up with via our parents' record collections or from our own discovery of Dusty's amazing musical legacy.

Now thirty-nine, country singer Shelby Lynne has made records for nearly twenty years,
establishing herself as one of Nashville's bright lights and dropping the occasional stylistic
screwball — namely, 2001's pop-rock Love, Shelby and '05's country-soul Suit Yourself. This
collection of Dusty Springfield covers mostly stays slow, quiet and romantic. There's no
