Shooter Jennings

Like Hank Williams III, Shooter Jennings (son of the late, great Waylon) is an apt country musician who plays country rock with an emphasis on rock, as evidenced by this April 18, 2006, performance at New York's Irving Plaza. "Busted in Baylor County," with it's segue into Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf," is a perfect example of how Jennings' performances appeal to rock audiences more than country crowds. That's not to say that the boy can't play the twang. "Lonesome Blues" is a weepy honky-tonk number that recalls old roadhouse outlaw country legends like his father.
