Son House is generally regarded as one of the most important figures in Delta blues, and The Original Delta Blues doesn't waste any time proving it. Kicking off with one of House's signature tunes, "Death Letter," the collection contains tons of fantastically primal slide guitar playing, and House's alternately tormented and jubilant vocals are a joy to hear.
