Legendary Left Coast rapper Spice 1's delivery has a snappy heft that resembles Scarface processed through a snarling Yay Area filter. Throughout, he announces himself as the boss, an assertion that is underlined by the near-constant presence of underling Bay Boy. The production resembles the lurching electro of post g-funk mobb music more than it does the pricklier dancefloor euphoria of hyphy, and likewise his lyrics reveal a grittier malaise, chronicling dark corners inhabited by ride-or-die playaz, pimps and perps.
