There is so much good material on this collection of radio sessions from 1991 to 2001 that it s almost easier not to listen to it at all. >From the driving, Neu!-esque indie pop to the tropicalia-postmodern overload 10 years later, these songs are bursting with new energy even right now!

This great idea, stuffing Stereolab's BBC recordings on two CDs, now doubles as an epitaph
for singer-guitarist Mary Hansen, who died in December. It is a fitting tribute and a fine
survey of the band's pneumatic bubblegum: sweet pop stripped to its fundamental throb
