Steve Earle

Accompanying Amos Poe's documentary about Earle's North American tour in 2002 and 2003, this double disc offers a front row view of Earle playing with a crack band amidst a self-made political hurricane. Like his other live records, the LP captures some of Earle's inspiring stage banter and growling renditions of classics new ("John Walker's Blues") and old ("Guitar Town"). Sprawled out over two discs, it's a bit exhausting, even though the most heartfelt material comes late in the show.
