Steve Earle

Like Live At Montreux, this collection is culled from a live concert DVD, but where Montreux features an aging outsider playing the part of the solo protest singer, this recording from 1986 finds him at the peak of his commercial success and backed by a full band. The nature of the tunes are different, too; even though Earle sings of his beloved union-built American car in opener "Sweet Little '66," there are few other openly political sentiments. Earle instead focuses on his thirst for rowdy lovers, loud music, and raisin' hell.
