Steve Martin's last full stand-up LP shows off his absurdist, conceptual take on showbiz clichés and laidback LA hipsters. This doesn't have the energy of his first albums, though he was so big that even "Cruel Shoes" (from his book of the same name) charted as a single. That bit, the title track and "How to Meet a Girl" are among the cuts that are still, very, very funny.

The backlash has already settled in against Steve Martin: accusations that this most original
of Seventies white comedians has become predictable, overreliant on catch phrases and
