With his long awaited solo outing, Neurosis singer and guitarist Steve Von Till turns his band's frightening vision inward, offering a painfully intimate portrait of a creative and troubled soul. Slow, insular acoustic guitar melodies serve as the somber backdrop for Von Till's gravely whisper, a voice shaped and weathered by years of introspection and private grief. The relentlessly bleak nature of these recordings make them difficult listening to be sure, but the patient will no doubt find Von Till's work to be some of the most heartbreakingly honest and delicate music to come out in years.
