A product of the mid-90s lo-fi revolutions, Pennsylvania's Strapping Fieldhands brought their endearing -- albeit unfinished -- pop craft before the public eye on two full-length releases and an assortment of EPs. Verses of the vocalist's drunken singing and minimal guitar arpeggiation explode into triumphantly melodic choruses chock full of noisy guitar, ramshackle drum crashing and beautiful bass melodies. Remember when "the Cutters? won the bicycle race in Breaking Away? If they'd written a victory song to play at the finish line, it might have sounded like this.
