Supergrass

Last time out, Supergrass got inward looking and melancholy. With this 2008 release, the lads plug back in and go for an even more irrepressible '70s rock sound. Music geeks can spot the references to Mott the Hoople or T.Rex. The rest of the world can just relax and hop around to unpretentious rockers like "Rebel In You" and the boogified "Whiskey & Green Tea." Those who are still laughing about the old Christopher Walken cowbell skit should check out "Outside," while "Ghost of a Friend" (which includes a quick tip of the hat to Dylan) is so great that a time machine needs to be built so it can live forever on classic rock radio.
