The Automatics

About

Once upon a time, long ago (in a time called the late 1970s) and far away (in a land called Britain) there was a band of punks called the Automatics. They played street-tough rock 'n' roll with a chip on its shoulder and a snarl on its face. Their guitar-powered songs hit hard and struck fast but never left melody behind. Drums lashed out and pounded their target with reckless abandon. Vocals blended over-the-top theatrics and cathartic anger. They tooled around London, played with greats like Johnny Thunders of the New York Dolls, wreaked havoc, and managed to release one truly excellent single. Unfortunately, they broke up in 1978 -- tired of the ultra-fast life and watching their friends die.
