One of the most impressive and intimidating crews in Hip-Hop, The Beat Junkies consistently amaze listeners, both on wax and in person. The California based DJ super-group was formed in 1992, long before DJ's entered mainstream culture and "turntablism" became a household world. Like their East Coast counterparts the X-Ecutioners, they have continued to show all doubters that turntables are indeed legitimate musical instruments and that an emcee is not always necessary to maintain a successful Hip-Hop group. With intricate routines, envelope-pushing trickery, and a flair for showmanship, The Beat Junkies began dominating the battle circuit, becoming internationally known as a force on the wheels. They put out several underground mix-tapes over the years, before releasing their debut The World Famous Beat Junkies Vol. 1 in 1997. The compilation showcased many of the West's brightest artists and let a fiending public hear their airtight skills on vinyl. Now on volume three, they show no signs of slowing down.
