The Beau Brummels

The Brummels -- who possessed more ambition and daring than anybody gave them credit for -- got back together in 1974 after a five-year break, but instead of an oldies tour, the band organized a week-long engagement at a Sacramento club, where they radically reworked old material and even introduced at least 10 new tunes, including the phenomenal "Singing Cowboy." Too bad Live! wasn't released back in the day, because the Brummels created some truly heady mid-'70s pop during that week of gigs.
