Rhapsody

Released in 1982, this was the Birthday Party's last studio album before the band disintegrated. The LP is difficult, abrasive and on the verge of collapse -- everything that post-punk should be. On tracks like "Big Jesus Trash Can," Nick Cave's explosive, harrowing growl and seeming demonic possession mesh perfectly with the stumble-punk swagger.
