The Bobbyteens' already-legendary status in the Garage Rock scene (due to their previous groundbreaking bands -- Mummies, Trashwomen, Brentwoods, and Phantom Surfers) only helped these cheerleaders of garage get noticed faster. While others are lost and digging around '77 Punk and '60s Garage Rock bands, the Bobbyteens push ahead by using the music of their teen years -- the mid to late '70s -- as inspiration for their sound. Once scoffed-at bands are now held in high esteem: the group's biggest influence in style and sound are hard-rockin' girl groups of the period, most notably the Runaways. These kids specialize in reinventing and building upon the past, and they fail to disappoint in this, the latest rebirth in rock 'n' roll.
