Never shying away from extravagance, irony, snotty proclamations, blistering feedback and over-the-top, clap-along pop, the Dandy Warhols are not ones to hold back. An affinity for drama and excess is always implicit in their sound -- just rent the documentary Dig! for verification. Earth to... is no exception, as they flirt with the New Wave roboticism of 2003's Welcome to the Monkey House and the dreamier bouts of meandering fuzz dominant on 2000's Thirteen Tales. It's decadent and hedonistic in all the ways we hate to love them.

Earth to the Dandy Warhols finds the Portland, Oregon, rockers seriously indulging their
artier side for the second album in a row — perhaps they've accepted that their
