The Dreadful Yawns

The Yawns have admitted to listening to a ton of Beachwood Sparks before crafting this indie pop gem. But unlike their heroes, they sound far more inspired by country-folk and bluegrass than the West Coast pop of the Beach Boys and Rumours-era Fleetwood Mac. This lends the music an earthy, Midwestern feel, which makes total sense, considering the Yawns hail from Ohio, the same state that gave us Pure Prairie League and Moviola.
