Any dream pop scholar will tell you that 1985 was a banner year. Why? Dream Academy's Nick Drake-inspired "Life in a Northern Town" went into the Top 10, that's why. The lush track hinted at the paisley sounds going on deeper in the underground, and still sounds great today. The record is an up-and-down affair, but "The Love Parade" is another nice tune.
