Rhapsody

The Format's second album is a pocket orchestra of power pop that cascades with heavy hooks and bright choral harmonies. Let the Badfinger-esque ohs, ahs and sha-la-las (not to mention the pastel doggies on the cover) distract you from the rather downcast lyrics ("This is the sound of my heart breaking/ And I hope its entertaining/ Cause for me it's a bitch"). This disc's the perfect soundtrack for a breezy summer's day.
