The Lemonheads

It's been 10 years since the Lemonheads released a record, and three since the now cleaned-up leader Evan Dando foisted a solo attempt upon us. The sound rambles between the punk-pop vintage of the band's early-'90s Boston sound and the more polished approach of It's a Shame About Ray, but the songs have a world-weary outlook of one who saw great expectations pass him by. It all perfectly meshes on "Become the Enemy," perhaps the best song Dando has ever written.
