The Loud Family

About

Game Theory's Scott Miller fronts this warm, intensely melodic Power Pop outfit. Clean, jangling guitars rise and fall to Jozef Becker's smart drumming as Miller puts the pretty chords to work and plays like it's 1988 all over again. The Loud Family solidify Miller's standing as a Power Pop great; these songs aren't only insatiably catchy, they could only belong to Scott Miller. At certain moments, it's as if Game Theory never broke up -- Miller's paisley/poofed hairdo and obvious talent put the struggle and alienation back into Jangle Pop. And even without the history lesson, the Loud Family do it cleaner and with more conviction than almost any other Rickenbacker-toting, vest 'n' creeper-clad Power Pop band.
