The Mountain Goats

John Darnielle has honed the sound of his Mountain Goats over the years, moving away from lo-fi arrangements and toward the refined-yet-minimalist instrumentation that currently frames his lyrical paintings. On Get Lonely, Darnielle outfits images like "wild sage growing on the weeds" with sparsely struck piano, acoustic guitar and the occasional drum.
