The Neville Brothers

On this tight outing, the Brothers bring a fair amount of Gap Band and George Clinton-style freak-funk to their protest party. That said, the organic Big Easy feeling of "Junkie Child," the Philly Soul sound of "Your Life (Fallen Soldiers)" and the Motor City psychedelic rebellion of "Ball of Confusion" work best.

Funk meets junk in the real nitty gritty ("Kingdom Come," "Rivers of Babylon"). (Grade - *)
