The Raveonettes

The Raveonettes' fuzzy mass of synths and distortion actually meshes quite well with twinkling sleigh bells, drummer boy snare rolls and frilly lyrics about Santa, snow and home sweet home. The hypnotic harmonies between the girl/guy duo give these brooding holiday love songs a cozy yet non-cheesy feel and the swinging '60s pop of "Christmas Ghosts" is just right for a winter formal slow dance. This EP is a nice change of pace from the usual holiday classics; here's hoping Santa brings an entire album from the twosome for next Christmas.
