About
Passion to make pure, crazed rock 'n' roll always produces the best bands. Case in point: the Rip Offs. Rising from the ashes of Supercharger and the Fingers, these guys shook San Francisco's foundation, causing rock-starved kids around the world to drop whatever they were doing to follow the out of control, supercharged rock sound of the Rip Offs. Their ski-masked robbery of old, obscure Punk gems gave them a strong footing to stand on. Covers and originals squared off -- both came out firing with a double guitar attack akin to two cannons spitting out perfect Punk guitar riffs. The Rip Off's volatile sound carried over into the band's chemistry, or perhaps it was the other way around. Either way, they went out in a ball of fire at their peak. Luckily for their fans, most members went on to form the equally great Infections, who lasted only long enough to release a single and album themselves.
