Come gather 'round, all you who think rock 'n' roll is as dead as Jim Morrison. This here is the Short Fuses -- and if these kids from Minnesota don't breathe fire into your lungs, get your heart beating and make your palms sweat, you'd better check yourself into a hospital. The Short Fuses have all the essential makings of a great rock 'n' roll band. Their songs have the hooks of Power Pop (not to mention the crispy tambourines), the devastating guitar bite of Detroit rock and the energy of Scandinavia's best rock juggernauts; Georgia Peach's sultry vocal growl tops the whole thing off. The Short Fuses are just that: a rocket ready to go at any second. The songwriting is top-notch and almost unparalleled for this day of "anybody can do it" music-making. If they don't do it for you, maybe you ought to roll yourself down to the nursing home.
