The Youngbloods

For their last two albums, Good and Dusty and High on a Ridge Top, the Youngbloods barely wrote any tunes, opting instead to cover a bunch of oldies but goodies, Delta blues and Southern soul. Who knows -- maybe Jesse Colin Young was withholding his best material for his then-burgeoning solo career. Or maybe the Youngbloods were listening to a lot of J. Geils Band and Sha Na Na. Either way, both titles, especially High on a Ridge Top, are straight-up bar-rockin' party records. Have at it.
