Damon Albarn's simple piano melody and Paul Simonon's deep bass riffs provide a bed for Eslam's chant. You don't need a translator to guess he's singing about the hopes and perils of a Muslim in London, or to marvel at how well the tune captures the invigorating feeling of washing about in the currents of a major metropolis.
