Bee Gees

This concert document captures the Bee Gees just as they were scoring with disco, yet still had a huge fan base who wanted to hear earlier soft-rock triumphs like "Massachusetts," "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" and "Lonely Days." The double live LP initially did well in the charts, but was so quickly dwarfed by the Saturday Night Fever juggernaut that it's been forgotten about. But check this one out -- it offers proof that both the rock and soul sides of the Bee Gees have enduring merit, as well eternal parody potential.

Trying to conceive of the Bee Gees without the Beatles is as impossible as imagining the
Osmonds without the Jackson Five. Though it is easy to forget it in this disco daze, the Bee
Gees were the original ersatz, presented under the auspices of Brian Epstein himself. So it's
only appropriate that their live album should be released almost simultaneously with the
