You gotta love the clavinette. Not only did it give the Band's "Cripple Creek" a one of a kind sound, but it can turn any song into an instant party jam. Move by Yourself kicks off with a clavinette on the title track, promising that this album is going to sound more like Jamiroquai than Donavon Frankenreiter's buddy Jack Johnson. And as the album unfolds, jazz piano, fretless bass and a heavily strutting rhythm section help build the groove. Not even string arrangements can de-funk this album.
