Rhapsody

Van's best album of the 1980s and '90s is a perfect mix of impressionistic folk, Celtic melancholy and moments of earthy R&B celebration. "Got to Go Back" kicks things off with a lovely bit of misty-eyed Irish nostalgia, "A Town Called Paradise" manages to soften Van's usual bitterness about the music industry and the rapturous "In the Garden" is the summation of his unique view of spirituality, nature and love.
