Vanessa Carlton

If we didn't know better, we'd swear Vanessa Carlton was only about 18. She's almost 10 years older, but her third album just sounds so youthful, so girlish. None of the keyboard motifs here are quite as lilting as the one on her debut hit "A Thousand Miles," but Carlton's skills as a pianist are still very apparent, buoying her sweet, childlike voice on this collection of winsome and sometimes wistful love songs.
