The guys in Brooklyn's VietNam aren't remotely old enough to remember the day Dylan went electric, but they've clearly seen the tape. This isn't to say they sound like that iteration of Dylan, but they sure are trying their best. Vocalist Michael Gerner even reaches for Dylan's back-of-the-throat croon when he sings, "Even the rats know there's no cheese in me to be scored," which wins this EP's award for Most Treacly Lyric. For some reason hip, good-looking New Yorkers can get away with this kind of thing, though.
