We Are Scientists

About

Following in the reinvented New Wave footprints of bands like the Killers and Bloc Party, the oddly-named We Are Scientists define themselves by adding a dose of quirky humor to their 1980s retro pop formula. Launched in the college dorm rooms of Southern California in 2000, it was only a matter of time before their dreams got bigger, and they split to New York to seek their fortunes. Luckily for everyone, they found it, and were snapped up by Virgin Records. The next step in their plan for world domination was to focus their attention on charming audiences abroad through frequent tours of the UK, before even releasing their debut album in 2005. Still have questions? They host an advice column on their website (“Ask a Scientist”) providing answers on such all-important topics as love, girls with mullets and the critical angle of glass.
