Willie Mitchell

  • Genre: Soul
  • Hometown: Memphis

About

Willie Mitchell made his biggest impact on soul music by signing Al Green to Hi Records and then producing Green's most successful albums, but Mitchell was also a masterful bandleader. In addition to playing on most Hi sessions during the 1960s, he released eleven albums of his own between 1963 and 1971, charting several times with slightly funky dance tracks such as "Soul Serenade."
